The Story of Yawovi (John) & Marla
It is sort of a long and complicated romance...
basically a mutual friend (friend and former finace' - Marc) introduced us 10 years ago in 1996. Marc - who is TOGOLESE (African) only speaks French & his native language (Ewe). Marc needed a translator to help him to tell me some things in English to further our friendship, which eventually progressed and we became engaged a few years later. John (Yawovi) my current fiance' is fluent in 4 languages (and is also a Pastor) that I share mutual spiritual beliefs with was engaged to Esther at the time that I met him.
Marc was unable to get a VISA to move to the USA, because of 9/11 <-- we had gotten engaged on 9/10/2001 the day before the terrorists attacks on the World Trade Centers. After 2 years of trying to get his VISA, we ended our engagement and went our separate ways - as friends. Marc has since remarried a woman from his own country.
About the same time that Marc and I parted ways... Esther left John (the background was that her family didn't think they wanted thier daughter to marry John)... Well to say the least, John was heartbroken.
Because of our friendship and mutual heartbreaks (as we'd become friends over the past 10 years)... we consoled each other through our woes and one thing led to another. I finally asked John if he would consider marrying me (even though I am older - 10 years) than he is, and John said that he would... I got the ring for Christmas to make it "official", and the rest is history.
OK... so how is that for a "boring" Soap Opera Life in Montana ;-)

Tis' Wednesday after Christmas (Sunday) 2005!
I had a fabulous (Christmas) holiday - getting engaged and all. I hope that you all had the same (A Wonderful Chrismas)!
I don't know about you... but I'm looking forward to one more 4 day weekend and wanted you all to recieve a bit of cheer from me.
Yawovi "Pastor John" is the love of my life, He is the one that I've waited for and he is finally in my life forever. Whenever life is this good I usually mess it up, I hope I don't do that this time!
This is where we hope to have our reception...
We look forward to seeing you all there,
with us on our Weddng Day... 7-7-2007
